Throughout this project, me and my group have created a group chat on whatsapp to discuss any group meetings. This has been very useful as it has become easy to meet up and communicate with each other.

Edititng the Music video

In Today's Lesson, We started to edit our music video on Premiere Pro. We experimented with the montage for our introduction. I looked and compared other music videos to see what techniques I also would like to include.

Annotating the Lyrics

The song we have chosen has meaning therefore we annotated the lyrics in order to point out specific lines such as "I will want your ex to see" the words "ex to see" resembles "ecstasy" this play with the words allows us to become more creative and we will use different legal drugs to reinforce a dysfunctional relationship.

Location Ideas

We were considering to use the studio as an alternative to get shots of our main actor playing the role of The Weeknd being alone in the darkness,creating a shadowy effect with smoke around him with high key lighting reflecting off his face.







Sky Gardens is a great location due to the aesthetic designs of its infrastructure and layout and the high views that would be very suitable for our song. However, we would have to be very careful in order to not damage anything and we have to bear in mind that the place is frequently occupied by members of the public.

We have considered using the photo studio as it is easy access and we would like to experiment with the high key lighting especially during The Weeknds' parts as he's parts are more performance based so a shadow effect will make it look more creative.

We have split the roles for the pre production and have planned our next meeting via whats-app. This is very useful as we are able to plan our next meetings and express our ideas.

Overall, I was pleased with the response we received from our audience. As we will include a sensitive narrative about domestic abused this will be a tricky yet exciting task to aim for. We still have many things to work on and think about such as the location because this really will effect our music video and we want to be as creative as we possibly can be with out music video.

Rights to use The Weeknd Ft Eminem - The Hills Remix

As we are shooting for educational purposes we still need to request permission to use the song as it does not belong to us. To avoid any disappointment we contacted 'UMusic' for the rights to use the song 

Risk Assessment

Being the director, I had to think of different risks that we could come across to avoid them. Before entering a location we will choose a safe area to put our equipment and shot with caution to avoid any injuries. Bearing in mind that we will be using expensive equipment we have decided to make sure we use a bag to carry both the camera and tripod and carefully placing the equipment in a spaced out area.
